A receipt from Tesco promised "1,000 Clubcard points when you visit tescobank.com/renewals2 and provide your car, home or pet insurance renewal dates". But when I went online, the promise stated only "100 Clubcard points".

I went ahead and gave my details. Then I contacted Tesco customer service by email, and it asked me to send a scan of the receipt, which I did, as it suspected it was an error on the till receipt.

Three reminder emails later, and I'm yet to receive any bonus (not even the 100 points) or an explanation.

I fulfilled my side of the deal by giving out my personal details, but Tesco has failed to deliver its side.

Yours is one of many complaints we get about retailers who allegedly use offers, such as bonus points and vouchers, to suck in buyers for extra services, but which fail when it comes to delivering them. Tesco has been in touch, and you have confirmed to us that you have been credited the full 1,000 points.

Our understanding is that the points are issued quarterly. Your entry in the promotion just missed the cut-off for inclusion in the next batch of vouchers, so your points were issued in the following one, for July

Tesco said: "LA has been awarded 1,000 Clubcard points, as promised in our promotion. Clubcard vouchers are issued quarterly, so the bonus points will be available to use in July. We will apologise to LA for any inconvenience."

Don't spend them all at once…
