Can you do better than Tim Martin and JD Wetherspoons?

JD Wetherspoon founder Tim Martin has never been shy to express his view on Britain’s membership of the EU.

He’s against it.

Accordingly, the pub chain has printed 200,000 beer mats that argue for a Leave vote, asking why British voters should trust IMF managing director Christine Lagarde, who has backed the Remain campaign.

The summer edition of Wetherspoons news, a magazine available in every Wetherspons pub, is also largely dominated by the EU referendum debate.

We here at GuardianWitness are not, on a philosophical level, against the idea of beer mats being used as political propaganda.

But we think our readers can do better than Mr Martin, who has chosen a rather tangential target for his anti-EU message.

So it’s over to you. We want your EU referendum beer mat designs - a sentence I never expected to write, but there we are.

Whether you’re firmly in favour of Britain’s continued membership of the EU, are desperate for it to Leave - even if you’re still on the fence - send your beer mat mock-up designs to us via GuardianWitness. We’ll post the most entertaining and/or informative in a gallery.

You can also send them to james.walsh@theguardian.com, if you prefer.
